Teaching Yoga to Beginners: A Teacher Training Weekend

  • yogaview 2211 North Elston Avenue Chicago, IL, 60614 United States (map)

This teacher training weekend is appropriate no matter if you’re a teacher or teacher in training, or if you’re simply a student that desires a deeper connection to your own practice and experience of yoga. Whatever your motivation, you will learn the art and science of teaching yoga to beginners.

Every session will begin as if you are a student in a beginners’ class being introduced to the basic foundations of yoga. You will then step off the mat, and together we will break down the essential details of teaching yoga to new yogis and yoginis.

From sequencing, breathing exercises, and appropriate postures, modifications, and adjustments to witnessing the mind, decreasing stress and anxiety, and coming home to your Self. You will learn multiple ways to empower your students through detailed discussions, lectures, and of course practice. We will explore how to approach the needs of students who are dealing with various conditions, injuries, and structural limitations, and the art of observation will be practiced with other participants in the class.

You will also be encouraged to practice on your own in order to harness the skills necessary to demonstrate self-trust both on and off the mat. The discoveries you make here will be inspiring! It is Alie’s intention for you to have fun learning the necessary skills to teach beginners safely and with intelligence.

Integrity and authenticity come from the heart. So let’s embrace teaching from your own experience of yoga and sharing what you love together during this powerful, deeply effective weekend. Rediscover your love of yoga with Alie and then share it with the world.

Space is limited. Upon registration, a required course reading and viewing list will be provided.
