Hi, I'm Alie McManus--full time yogini, meditator, Ayurveda nerd, and dog lover!
Thanks so much for visiting my site. I've been studying yoga and meditation since 1994 and teaching since 1999, and I'm super excited to share this journey with you. My primary teacher is Erich Schiffmann (the GOAT!) and I've also learned so much from Barbara Benagh, Patricia Sullivan, and Angela Farmer. Freedom Yoga is an invitation to use the discipline of the practices to flower into an intuitive, embodied experience of yoga as a lifestyle. Rooted in the tradition of meditation, awareness, and conscious union with Divine Consciousness, or Raja Yoga, this approach supports a gentle remembering of our natural state of wholeness.
My primary teacher, Erich Schiffmann, modeled and transmitted the essence of Freedom Yoga through both his teaching and his way of being: Erich is the presence of peace and love. This practice encourages Self-trust, presence, and gentle, persistent inner listening.
Through breath, movement, and the mindful pause of meditation, Freedom Yoga offers a path to cultivate clarity, compassion, and inner peace—on the mat and in daily life.
